UPDATED - Injured Deputy Name Released - Switzerland County Sheriff Deputy Injured

A Switzerland County Sheriffs Deputy, Eddie McClellan, was injured today. According to the sheriff's office the injury occurred during an altercation with a prisoner being transported between the Switzerland County Courthouse and the Switzerland County Jail. The prisoner attempted to run when the deputy tackled her and sustained a non-life threatening injury to his leg. A medical helicopter flew him to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he is undergoing surgery. The Sheriff says McClellan broke both bones in his lower leg. This is all the information we have as of now from the Switzerland County Sheriff's Office, but we will update this story as more information becomes available. |
